Description Garfield Community Center has a computer lab open after school for students 12-19 to get help on homework, word processing, research, digital imaging and other computer skills. All classes and assistance are free to youth. They are offering the following this fall:

  • A designated Teen Time/Homework help Monday-Friday, 2:30-5pm
  • Open Lab for teens, adults and children under 12 accompanied by an adult on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 5-7pm and Tuesday 6-7pm.
  • A class helping college-bound teens search for and apply to colleges and scholarships
  • A class for teens on digital art and design, Tuesdays 5-6pm
The lab has 14 PC computers equipped with Microsoft Office 2007, Internet access, Adobe Photoshop Elements, Adobe Premiere Elements, MS Publisher and MS Encarta. They also have one Macintosh with iMovie and iPhoto.

The computer lab will also be open on select Saturdays from 1-4pm. If students wish to use the lab on a Saturday it is best if they call ahead at 206-684-4788. Garfield Community Center is located at 2323 Cherry Street.

Description The Seattle Public Library offers students homework help in two ways: online and through their Homework Help Centers. You will need a library card and Pin to access the online help. For online help, do the following:

  • Log on to http://www.spl.org

  • Choose "Homework Help"

  • Enter your library card number and PIN

  • Connect to an expert tutor for one-on-one help
