We've tried to answer some of the most common questions parents and students have in this section.
If you wish, you can browse through a list of all the questions and answers, with the most
recent at the top. What will probably be more helpful, though, is to choose a specific interest area as follows: on the right
side of this page is a "Categories" list. Click on the area your question falls under to bring up a list of questions and
answers in that area only (sometimes there will be more than one page of questions and answers). If your question is not
there, or if you don't see an area for your question, please contact us using the form
below, and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.
The conferences happen once a year, after the first quarter report cards are mailed home, in November. Usually they are held on two consecutive days, the first in the late afternoon (e.g., 3-5) and the second in the early evening (e.g., 5:30 to 7:30). All the teachers sit at tables in alphabetical order in the gym, and parents stand in line for their turn to spend up to 5 minutes with the teacher(s) of their choice. This is a good way to get an overview on how your student is doing, or to talk with a specific teacher whose subject is giving your student some trouble. Parents who need more time with a teacher can sign up for an apointment with that teacher at a later date.

Your grade-level counselor will be happy to talk with you about your concerns. Schedule changes do not usually happen once each semester starts, and teacher changes rarely happen at all. It will be important and necessary for you to speak with the teacher and voice your concerns; your grade-level counselor can assist you in this. The grade-level counselor and administrator can work with you and the teacher if you are still concerned after your teacher conference.
